A donut chart carries a split and a headline figure at once, which is exactly what election coverage needs: the ring shows Democrats, Republicans and races too close to call while the center counts up to 92% called; ballots by method around 4.2M cast; precincts reporting around 82%. Every design here is pre-filled that way, in the red-and-blue political themes.
Using them in a political video
Open a design, set the segments and the center figure separately (the center can be a percentage, a count or a dollar amount), and export. The Minimal and Mono designs suit a single progress figure such as ballots counted; the Classic and Bold designs suit a full breakdown; the Winner design keeps the leading segment in color. Export a transparent MOV to sit the ring over your footage, or an MP4 for a cutaway.
Frequently asked questions
- Can the center number be different from the segments?
- Yes. The center figure is independent, with its own label, prefix, suffix and decimals, so the ring can show the breakdown while the center shows the total or a percentage.
- Which design suits a precincts-reporting counter?
- The Minimal, Mono or Slim designs, with two or three segments and the percentage counting up in the middle.
- Can I show money raised by donor size?
- Yes. Set the segments to donor groups and the center to the total with a $ prefix and an M suffix, as the Slim design's example does.
